CF Moto 450 Cruiser Review

The entry-level cruiser market has long been dominated by the Honda Rebel 500, especially in the Philippines. With its low seat height, ease of use, and classic looks, it has become a go-to for many beginners. CF Moto, however, has entered the competition with their first-ever cruiser, the 450 platform. On paper, it might even be better. Let’s dive into the details.

Performance and Features

The CF Moto 450 Cruiser is powered by a 449cc liquid-cooled parallel twin engine, delivering 40 horsepower at 8,000 RPM and 42 Nm of torque at 6,250 RPM. It features an inverted front fork with 37mm fork tubes and a centrally mounted rear shock.

Braking is handled by a 320mm single disc up front, branded J1, and a 220mm single disc at the rear. Safety features include traction control and dual-channel ABS as standard.

Wheels and Tires

The bike comes with 16-inch wheels: a 130/90 tire at the front and a 150/80 tire at the rear.

Design and Aesthetics

The design of the CF Moto 450 Cruiser gives it the look of a baby cruiser. The front end resembles a Triumph Bobber, but the rear fender’s high positioning creates a gap that might not appeal to everyone.

The build quality has significantly improved compared to earlier CF Moto models. The switchgear feels premium, and the dashboard has a modern yet analog-inspired display, blending classic and contemporary styling.

Comfort and Ergonomics

The seat is comfortable, appearing more premium than the CF Moto 450SR and NK models. The seating position is slightly forward-leaning but remains ergonomic for long rides. The 690mm seat height makes it accessible for shorter riders.

Performance on the Road

At 181kg, the bike is manageable, with a low center of gravity making city riding easy. The belt drive system adds to its smooth performance, setting it apart from chain-driven alternatives.

Fuel Efficiency

With a fuel tank capacity of 17 liters, it surpasses the Triumph Bobber’s capacity. Fuel efficiency is around 18 km per liter, depending on riding conditions.

Final Thoughts

The CF Moto 450 Cruiser is an excellent option for beginners and cruiser enthusiasts alike. While it may not be the fastest bike, it provides a smooth and enjoyable riding experience. With a comfortable seat, premium build, and solid road performance, it stands as a worthy competitor in the cruiser market.
