Mark Your Calendars: Version 5.6 Special Program Incoming!

HoYoverse has officially announced the Version 5.6 Special Program livestream is scheduled for Friday, April 25th. As always, get ready for our favorite chibi characters to guide us through all the exciting new content heading our way. This livestream is your go-to source for a full preview of Version 5.6, so expect announcements on new events, updates to existing systems, and, of course, introductions to the patch’s new characters: the five-star Cryo unit Escoffier and the four-star character Ifa.

The full release of Version 5.6 is set for May 7th, 2025, so be sure to mark that date in your calendars! And don’t forget the tradition – the livestream will also drop three limited-time redeem codes, offering a total of 300 Primogems. These codes disappear fast, so be ready to claim them as soon as they go live!

Even if you’ve been following our previous updates on Version 5.6’s broader strokes, like the new weekly boss, the livestream is guaranteed to unveil fresh details and surprises you won’t want to miss.

Eyes on the Horizon: Version 5.7 Character Leaks Heat Up!

While Version 5.6 promises a wealth of new content, the community’s gaze is already drifting towards Version 5.7, and for good reason! Shortly after the launch of 5.6, expect the usual cycle to continue – leaked footage of upcoming character animations will likely start surfacing online within the first day or two. These early leaks have become incredibly consistent, often appearing even before HoYoverse’s official drip marketing campaign begins.

With drip marketing typically rolling out about a week after a new patch goes live, these early leaks often steal the spotlight and ignite major discussions within the community.

Speaking of highly anticipated characters, credible leaks have essentially confirmed the arrival of Skirk in Version 5.7! We’ve previously done a deep dive into her potential kit, but as a quick recap, Skirk is expected to be a Cryo sword-wielder whose abilities are said to shine in both Mono Cryo and Freeze team compositions. Her appearance in the Fontaine epilogue sparked massive anticipation, and her unique playstyle and lore significance are almost guaranteed to make a significant impact upon her release.

But that’s not all! Leaks also point towards another new character named Dahlia making her debut in the same patch. Early concept art shows her with a blue Vision on her back, naturally leading to speculation about her being a Hydro unit. However, game file information suggests she’s more likely to be a Catalyst user, though further confirmation is still pending. Regardless, Version 5.7 is shaping up to be a very character-focused update!

Quality of Life Overhaul: Version 5.6 Brings Significant Improvements

With new characters and content on the way, HoYoverse is also delivering a substantial wave of quality-of-life improvements in Version 5.6 that are sure to enhance your daily experience in Teyvat. Let’s dive into some of the most notable changes:

  • Direct Genesis Crystal to Fate Conversion: Players will now be able to directly purchase both Intertwined Fates and Acquaint Fates using Genesis Crystals, streamlining the top-up and wishing process.
  • Intelligent Primogem Shortage Display: When attempting a 10-pull with insufficient Primogems, the system will now display both the missing Primogem amount and the equivalent Genesis Crystal cost to complete the pull.
  • Imaginarium Theater Reward Buff: Completing stars in the Visionary Mode of the Imaginarium Theater will now yield tangible rewards: 3 stars grant 8 Sanctifying Essence, 6 stars reward a Transient Resin, and achieving 9 out of 10 stars unlocks a Sanctifying Elixir.
  • Optimized Mobile Downloads: Mobile players will have two download options: a full resource download and a basic download. The basic option allows for a smaller initial download, with additional files for story quests and events downloaded later.
  • Smart Storage Optimization: A new storage optimization system will automatically uninstall files related to completed quests while preserving data for ongoing or incomplete ones, helping players manage their device storage.
  • Talent Navigation Shortcuts: When viewing a character’s passive or constellation that mentions another talent, you can now tap on the reference to directly jump to the relevant talent description. This will also apply to ascension talents and other related attributes.
  • Quick Experience Mode for Story Replay: Players will be able to rewatch previously completed Archon and story quests using a new Quick Experience Mode, allowing for easy revisiting of key narrative moments.
  • Bulk Map Marker Deletion: You’ll now have the ability to delete up to 50 custom map markers at once, making map cleanup significantly easier.
  • Imaginarium Theater Character Focus: The Imaginarium Theater lineup will emphasize Electro, Cryo, and Dendro characters, including corresponding trial characters and bosses. Additionally, new Thespian Picture poses will be added for Diluc, Diona, Faruzan, and Keqing.
