Ineffa and Lunar-Charged: A Glimpse into Genshin Impact’s Nod-Krai Combat!

Hey Travelers! Get ready to bid farewell to Natlan, because Genshin Impact Version 5.8 is just around the corner, bringing with it a whole host of exciting changes and a peek into what awaits us in the mysterious region of Nod-Krai. While many eyes are on Nod-Krai’s Archon Quest, the upcoming update is set to introduce a fascinating new character, Ineffa, and significant improvements to the Lunar-Charged Elemental Reaction.

Ineffa, a 5-star Electro Polearm character, is more than just a new face. As an artificial construct built from scavenged technology, she’s thematically similar to fan favorites like Wanderer and Albedo. But from a gameplay perspective, she’s drawing comparisons to Emilie and Fischl, suggesting a strong support or sub-DPS role. She’ll also be introducing us to the intriguing Clink-Clank Krumkake Craftshop – we can’t wait to see what that entails!

Ineffa’s Kit and the Lunar-Charged Revolution

Recent beta build changes, as shared by HomDGCat, reveal some interesting adjustments to Ineffa’s kit. While her Elemental Skill has seen a nerf to its personal damage, her overall team contribution is expected to remain strong. To compensate, the Lunar-Charged Elemental Reaction has received a substantial buff to its damage multipliers.

This is huge news! Lunar-Charged is now positioned as a direct upgrade over Electro-Charged, which could potentially revolutionize team compositions. Imagine the possibilities for new synergies and strategies!

Let’s break down the changes to Ineffa and Lunar-Charged (based on V3 beta info):

Ineffa – Cleaning Mode: Carrier Frequency

  • Skill DMG: 155.52%
  • Shield DMG Absorption: 398.1312% ATK + 3050.9182
  • Shield Duration: 20s
  • Birgitta Discharge DMG: 172.8% (down from 230.4%)
  • Birgitta Duration: 20s
  • CD: 16s

Lunar-Charged Reaction

This reaction triggers one hit per 2 seconds on targets afflicted with both Hydro and Electro. What’s truly exciting is that Lunar-Charged can CRIT and ignores DEF! While every participant deals damage separately, the damage from other team members will be greatly reduced compared to the highest damage instance.

There’s also Direct Lunar-Charged, where some characters can directly deal Lunar-Charged DMG based on their ATK. This also ignores DEF and is affected by the Elemental Mastery Bonus, with the final damage being 300% of the original DMG.

Elemental Mastery Bonus

The Elemental Mastery scaling for Lunar-Charged has also been buffed:

  • Old: (5 × Elemental Mastery) ÷ (Elemental Mastery + 2100)
  • New: (6 × Elemental Mastery) ÷ (Elemental Mastery + 2000)

This improved scaling makes Elemental Mastery even more valuable for optimizing Lunar-Charged damage!

Nod-Krai’s Combat Mechanics: Lunar Reactions?

While not officially confirmed, Ineffa and the Lunar-Charged reaction are strongly suspected to be a preview of Nod-Krai’s core combat mechanic. Just as Natlan introduced Nightsoul and Fontaine had Arkhe, many players believe “Lunar Reactions” will be a key feature, potentially breathing new life into currently less-utilized Elemental Reactions.

Leaks even suggest that Version 6.0 might introduce a 5-star Geo Female who brings Lunar-Crystallize to the table, along with a 5-star Electro Male designed as Ineffa’s ideal teammate!

To Pull or Not to Pull?

So, what does this mean for your Primogem stash? Support characters are always a solid investment, and Ineffa certainly looks promising, especially for players with Electro or Hydro hypercarries. However, she won’t be the only way to engage with Nod-Krai’s combat.

If you’re unsure, it might be wise to hold onto your Primogems until the full cast of Nod-Krai is officially unveiled. While endgame content often favors new characters, remember that Electro-Charged still offers strong alternatives like Ororon.

Based on past beta cycles, it’s unlikely Ineffa will receive further changes. Version 5.8 is set to launch on July 30, 2025, so mark your calendars!
