Honkai StarRail : Hysilens Best build and team Composition

Hysilens is a powerful 5-star Nihility character who specializes in applying debilitating debuffs and dealing significant Damage over Time (DoT). Building her effectively requires a careful balance of stats, but the payoff is a character who can tear through even the toughest enemies. While her signature Light Cone is a great choice, there are several other excellent options available that make her a strong addition to many teams, even without her ideal setup.

Best Light Cones for Hysilens

Hysilens’s Light Cone choice is crucial for her performance, as it can significantly impact her Effect Hit Rate and damage output.

Signature and 5-Star Options

  • Why Does the Ocean Sing (Signature): This is Hysilens’s best-in-slot option. It provides a massive boost to her Effect Hit Rate (EHR) and introduces the Enthrallment status, which stacks to increase the DoT damage enemies receive. It also offers a speed buff for Hysilens when allies attack debuffed enemies, making her an all-around powerhouse.
  • Those Many Springs (Jiaoqiu’s Signature): An excellent alternative that provides a huge EHR buff and a chance to inflict the unarmored status, increasing the damage enemies take. This effect is even stronger if the enemy is already suffering from a DoT.
  • Reforged Remembrance (Black Swan’s Signature): This Light Cone also gives a great EHR boost. When Hysilens attacks an enemy with a DoT, she gains a stack of Prophet, which increases her ATK and allows her DoTs to ignore enemy Defense. This is a very strong choice for increasing her damage.
  • Patience is All You Need (Kafka’s Signature): While this is a strong Light Cone for its damage and speed buffs, it doesn’t offer any EHR. To use it effectively, you’ll need to hit the recommended EHR breakpoints through your Relics and Ornaments, which can be challenging.
  • In the Name of the World (Welt’s Signature): This is a solid, though surprising, option. It increases the wearer’s ATK and the damage they deal to debuffed enemies. While it only increases the EHR of her skill, it’s still a decent choice if you have it and are working on getting a better one.

4-Star Options

  • Eyes of the Prey: This is a fantastic 4-star choice. It’s simple but effective, increasing both her EHR and her DoT damage.
  • Before the Tutorial Mission Starts: A free Light Cone from the Simulated Universe store, this is a great choice for its EHR boost and energy restoration. Since Hysilens’s Ultimate is a key part of her kit, having a reliable way to get it back faster is very useful.
  • It’s Showtime: Another great option from the Forgotten Hall store. It increases Hysilens’s damage when she applies a debuff and provides a significant ATK boost if her EHR is over 80%. This is a great way to boost her damage if you can meet the EHR requirement.

Best Relics and Ornaments for Hysilens

Hysilens’s Relics should focus on maximizing her DoT damage and supporting her key stats.

  • Prisoner in Deep Confinement: This is her best Relic set. The two-piece bonus increases her ATK by 12%, and the four-piece bonus allows her to ignore a portion of the enemy’s Defense for every DoT they’re under. This is perfect for her kit.

For Planar Ornaments, you have a couple of great options:

  • Revelry by the Sea: This is the ideal Ornament set for Hysilens. It increases her ATK by 12% and provides a bonus to her DoT damage if her ATK reaches certain breakpoints.
  • Firmament Frontline Glamoth: A strong alternative if you can reach the speed breakpoints. This set increases her ATK by 12% and provides a significant damage boost if her Speed is at least 135 or 160.

Essential Hysilens Stat Breakpoints

Hysilens has a few key stat breakpoints that are essential for maximizing her damage, mainly tied to her Traces and Ornament set.

  • Effect Hit Rate (EHR): Hysilens needs at least 60% EHR to reliably apply her debuffs to most enemies. However, to get the full benefit of her third major passive Trace, which increases her damage based on her EHR, you’ll want to aim for 120% EHR. This can be a high bar to reach, but you will still get a damage buff even if you don’t hit the full 120%.
  • Attack (ATK): If you’re using the Revelry by the Sea Ornament set, you’ll want to aim for 3,600 ATK to get the full DoT damage bonus. This is a very high number that will likely require you to sacrifice some other stats.

Stat Priority Breakdown

  • Body: Effect Hit Rate (if your Light Cone doesn’t provide it) or ATK%.
  • Feet: Speed or ATK%. Speed is generally preferred to let Hysilens act more often, but ATK% can be a good choice if you’re trying to hit the Revelry by the Sea breakpoint.
  • Sphere: ATK%.
  • Rope: Energy Regeneration Rate is the best option here, as her Ultimate is incredibly powerful. However, ATK% is also a viable choice if you need to hit the Ornament breakpoint.

Best Teams for Hysilens

Hysilens excels in teams that can either apply more DoTs or support her with powerful buffs.

  • DoT Team: Hysilens’s best teams are those with other DoT characters like Kafka and Black Swan. They can apply multiple DoTs to enemies, allowing Hysilens to deal massive damage with her Ultimate and passive Traces.
  • Support Team: Even without other DoT characters, Hysilens can still be a powerful debuffer and sub-DPS. Pair her with characters who can buff her ATK and damage, like Tingyun or Bronya. A strong sustain character like Huohuo or Luocha is also essential to keep the team alive.

With a little bit of investment and careful stat management, Hysilens can be a powerful force on your team, leaving a trail of DoT-inflicted enemies in her wake.
