Zenless Zone Zero: A Guide to Ascending Orphie and Magus

 

Zenless Zone Zero’s highly anticipated 2.2 update will introduce a powerful new agent: Orphie and Magus. This dual-character agent is an Attack specialist from the Fire element, and if you want to be ready for their release, you’ll need to start gathering materials. Based on leaks from the closed beta, here’s a detailed guide to all of their ascension and skill upgrade requirements.

Orphie and Magus Ascension Materials

To promote Orphie and Magus and increase their max level, you’ll need to gather specific Certification Seals and Dennies.

  • Level 20: Requires 4 Basic Attack Certification Seals and 24,000 Dennies.
  • Level 30: Requires 12 Advanced Attack Certification Seals and 56,000 Dennies. You will also earn a Master Tape.
  • Level 40: Requires 20 Advanced Attack Certification Seals and 120,000 Dennies.
  • Level 50: Requires 10 Pioneer’s Certification Seals and 200,000 Dennies. You will also earn a Master Tape.
  • Level 60: Requires 20 Pioneer’s Certification Seals and 400,000 Dennies.

Orphie and Magus Skill Upgrade Materials

To upgrade each of Orphie and Magus’s skills, you’ll need various Burn Chips.

  • Level 2-3: Requires Basic Burn Chips.
  • Level 4-6: Requires Advanced Burn Chips.
  • Level 7-11: Requires Specialized Burn Chips.
  • Level 12: Requires 15 Specialized Burn Chips and a Hamster Cage Pass.

Orphie and Magus Core Skill Enhancement Materials

To unlock and enhance Orphie and Magus’s Core Skills, you will need to farm specific boss materials from challenging domains.

  • Core Skill A: Requires 5,000 Dennies.
  • Core Skill B-C: Requires Higher Dimensional Data: Miasmic Elytron.
  • Core Skill D-F: Requires both Scarlet Engine and Higher Dimensional Data: Miasmic Elytron.

Where to Find Orphie and Magus’s Materials

Knowing what you need is only half the battle. Here’s a breakdown of where to farm each material.

  • Certification Seals: The Basic, Advanced, and Pioneer’s Certification Seals are all obtainable from the Attack Drill. You can start this challenge using the VR device at the HIA Club.
  • Burn Chips: Since Orphie is a Fire agent, you’ll need Basic, Advanced, and Specialized Burn Chips. These are obtained from the Heating Test, which you can also access using the VR device at the HIA Club.
  • Hamster Cage Pass: This rare item is typically earned from the New Eridu City Fund (the game’s Battle Pass) upon reaching Level 35. It can also be a reward for completing limited-time events.
  • Higher Dimensional Data: Miasmic Elytron: This Core Skill material drops from the Miasma Ravager—Avarus Expert Challenge. You can enter this domain via the console at the HIA Club.
  • Scarlet Engine: This material is obtainable from the Corrupted Overlord—Pompey Notorious Hunt. This is a weekly boss domain that can be challenged from the console at the Scott Outpost.

Having this information early will give you a major head start. Begin gathering these materials now so you can fully ascend and upgrade Orphie and Magus as soon as they drop!
