These mystical items are crucial for applying various enchantments to your shovels, boosting stats like luck, haste, or control, and even improving mutation chances to help you rake in more cash.
What is an Enchantment Tome in Dig?
The Enchantment Tome in “Dig” is a glowing book with a crystal on its cover. It’s the sole item required to apply enchantments to your shovel at the Enchantment Altar in Azure Hollow, located within Cinder Cavern. Think of it as the magic spellbook for your digging tools!
How to Get Enchantment Tomes in Dig
While Enchantment Tomes are quite rare, there are two primary ways to acquire them in “Dig”:
1. Digging Them Up as Random Loot (The Free Method)
For beginners or those running on empty pockets, continuous digging is your best bet! Equip your best shovel, head to your favorite farming spot for valuable loot, and start digging away.
As you unearth regular items, there’s a chance you’ll also find random bonus loot, including basic crates, magnet crates, and—you guessed it—Enchantment Tomes! During early access testing, players reported finding up to 3 Enchantment Tomes as additional loot from digging.
Pro-Tip for Boosting Your Chances: To slightly increase your odds of digging up Enchantment Tomes, consider using a Magnet shovel or applying an Abundant enchantment to your current shovel. These can boost your general loot-finding chances, which indirectly helps with Tome drops.
2. Buying Enchantment Tomes from the Dark Wizard (The Pricey Method)
If you prefer a more reliable method and have some cash to spare, you can purchase Enchantment Tomes from the mysterious Dark Wizard NPC. However, there are a few requirements you’ll need to meet:
- Level Requirement: You must be at least Level 30 in “Dig.”
- Time Sensitivity: The Dark Wizard is a hidden NPC who only appears during Summer nights.
- Cost: Each Enchantment Tome will set you back a hefty $15,000 in game currency.
How to Find and Buy from the Dark Wizard:
- First, travel to Rooftop Woodlands.
- Locate the specific tree with a wooden door (coordinates: 4401, 226, -628).
- Once there, knock on the door. The Dark Wizard NPC will then appear in front of it.
- Interact with the Dark Wizard and purchase an Enchantment Tome for $15,000.
Important Note for Beginners: While buying is convenient, $15,000 is a significant amount of money, especially in the early stages of the game when you’re likely using beginner shovels. This method is generally more suitable for players who have already made some good progress and accumulated wealth. We suggest focusing on digging first and revisiting the Dark Wizard later in your “Dig” journey.
